Every girl deserves to belong in cricket
Because every girl deserves to discover her full potential through the sport we love.
Yet across the UK, 2 million fewer women and girls play sport compared to men and boys, and only 33% of children playing cricket are girls.
This Christmas, you can help change that story.
As part of our campaign, we are thrilled to announce our participation in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2024, with funds raised going towards the extension our girls-only Wicketz hubs in disadvantaged communities.
From 3-9 December, your donations will be matched up to £13,000 by The Reed Foundation, effectively doubling your impact.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge: Double Your Impact
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK's largest match funding campaign, taking place from 3-9 December 2024.
During this period, donations made to participating charities through theBigGive.org.uk are doubled by matching funders.
How does it work?
- Charities like Lord's Taverners run campaigns to raise funds for specific projects, like our #SheBelongs initiative to support young women and girls through our cricket programmes.
- Your donation is then matched pound-for-pound by our matching funders, doubling the impact of your support.
- As a result, your contribution goes twice as far in helping us provide life-changing opportunities for young women and girls in cricket.
Our Vision
Equal representation
We aim to increase the proportion of female participants in our programmes from the current 25% to a more equitable level.
More female coaches and role models
To work with partners to provide opportunities for female young leaders and coaches to develop and to inspire the next generation of cricketers.
Female only hubs in ALL areas
We have the long-term aim of creating a female only Wicketz and Super 1s hub in every county.

"I've always wanted to give back, and now this is my chance."
Tiger was part of our Wicketz programme in Nottingham. She is now on a journey to become a support coach and an amazing role model to young girls who are starting their cricket experience.
What are the biggest barriers to participation according to female Wicketz participants?
- Facilities: 26% said being in the public eye is a barrier to participation - fear of the male gaze.
- Representation: 38% said a lack of representation is a barrier. Sessions should reflect diversity and the communities they are.
- Female coaches: 42% mentioned having a strong need for female only coaches who relate to participants - male coaches are a barrier.
