Our 75th anniversary year starts now
We'd like to wish you a very happy 2025 from the Lord's Taverners in what is a special year for the charity as we celebrate our 75th anniversary.
We’re thrilled about this special occasion and the opportunity to reflect on our rich history while looking forward to a bright future.
Throughout 2025, we will be celebrating our anniversary with a nationwide calendar of events, and we are working with volunteers and members to ensure that the celebrations are truly memorable and in the spirit of the Taverners... some very exciting news about these events will be announced in the next few months.
In 1950, a group of cricket enthusiasts from the world of sport and entertainment gathered at the famous Tavern at Lord's Cricket Ground and decided they would form a club to give something back to those less fortunate than themselves. That ethos remains true to this day, with our free inclusive and impactful cricket programmes empowering thousands of young people with a disability and from disadvantaged communities to overcome the challenges of inequality and reach their potential.
Our theme for the memorable year ahead will be 'Proud of our history, excited for our future'. We hope you agree this is a perfect reflection of where we’ve been and the exciting journey that lies ahead.
Events to look out for in 2025 include:
- An anniversary celebration at the unique Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of London on 26 June
- A tribute event with a leading name from the world of show business
- A unique Taverners Taskmaster evening based on the TV show
- A special tribute to the Taverners from our Arts Committee
The above is just a flavour of some of the events we have planned and our full 2025 calendar is still being finalised, so please do keep an eye on our website and social media channels to find out about our events and all the ways you can get involved in our anniversary year celebrations.
Thank you for your ongoing support and we'd like to wish all our members a very happy 75th birthday.
