£50,000 grant to help Lord’s Taverners community empower young people through cricket

The Lord’s Taverners Wicketz programme has received a huge boost in the form of a £50,000 grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation, which will help fund the expansion of a youth voice platform at each of the charity’s 17 Wicketz projects that puts young people from disadvantaged communities at the heart of the continued delivery of Wicketz.

The Oval could well be the venue for a very special men’s Ashes finale in two weeks’ time, but this week the historic venue hosted a memorable event of a different kind where two young people were recognised for their personal development and contribution to Super 1s when they were both presented with an Inspire Award by England all-rounder Chris Woakes and comic Adam Hills.

Slogging it Ashes Walk – Second Leg Accomplished

Following the completed first leg from Tavs HQ to Edgbaston Stadium, the podcast trio have now smashed the second leg of their Ashes Walk and completed another 120 mile stretch from Edgbaston to Lord’s in time for the second Test match.
