Girls participation numbers rising in Hartlepool

Girls who regularly attend Wicketz sessions in Hartlepool spoke three months after taking part in the first residential festival for girls in the summer, commenting on their love for the sport and building confidence to take things to the next level.

In August, 55 girls from across the UK attended the Wicketz programme's first all girls residential festival at Repton School taking part in competitive cricket matches and bespoke life skills workshops.

Wicketz hubs in Hartlepool has seen regular female participation double over the past year, so we revisited some of the girls at Brierton Sports Centre.
