Lord's Taverners and CricAthlete52 unveil partnership

The Lord's Taverners and CricAthlete52 have agreed a partnership that will see the leading cricket strength and conditioning app become an official partner of the charity and help to support our life-changing work with disadvantaged and disabled young people.

CricAthlete52 makes professional strength and conditioning accessible to cricketers at all ages and stages.

Its programmes help increase cricket athleticism to help take performance to the next level. Via the app you will have access to an assigned programme and all the resources you need to support development 52 weeks of the year - making it the perfect addition to help with pre-season preparations.

A percentage of proceeds from the app will go towards the charity's life-changing cricket programmes that break down barriers and empower disadvantaged and disabled young people to fulfil their potential and build life skills.

And participants on the Lord's Taverners cricket programmes will also benefit with England Lions strength and conditioning expert Tom Turner and experienced level 4 cricket coach Sean Hooper helping to set challenges as part of the charity's award-winning programmes.

Both Turner and Hooper have come together to create fitness programmes available on the app that can be performed with minimal equipment at home. For those that have access to a gym there are programmes designed for the more advanced trainer.

This app includes 52 weeks of training plans and challenges via an online app which you can access anywhere using your smartphone or computer.

Tom Turner of CricAthlete52, said: "We built the app to help remove the barrier of professional fitness support for cricket which can be both inaccessible and expensive.  We want to ensure every young aspiring player has the option to access affordable fitness programmes to support their cricket skill development, maximise potential and reduce injury risk.”

Tom’s business partner Sean Hooper, who conceived the app and is a long-term supporter of the Lord’s Taverners, added: "We're delighted to be supporting the work of the Lord's Taverners and to give back to the game and help support it from grassroots up.  We both share similar values of removing barriers and creating amazing variations of cricket for all participants and we're delighted that we will be able to support all of the young people on the charity's programmes."
