Slogging it Ashes Walk – Second Leg Accomplished
Following the completed first leg from Tavs HQ to Edgbaston Stadium, the podcast trio have now smashed the second leg of their Ashes Walk and completed another 120 mile stretch from Edgbaston to Lord’s in time for the second Test match.
On Sunday 25 June, Eugene Berger and Simon Roberts set off without Johnno Gordon for this trek, but Billy Roberts – their support driver followed them on their journey to the Home of Cricket!
The sloggers rested in luxury for their first night at Dog Lane Fishery & Caravan Park, where they were treated to hot showers, clean toilets and the joys of being surrounded by wonderful nature. Stony Stratford CC hosted again for their second night, with the third night being spent at Tring CC watching some thrilling cricket with a Dominos pizza (a different kind of luxury)!
After a medical issue (and a questionable foot picture), and one more overnight stay a few miles away from the ground - they made it.
CEO Mark Curtin, MarComms Director Mike Hartwell and Trustee Gordon Kennedy joined Slogging It for the last three miles to Lord’s where they entered the ground and took their cumulative total to a huge 240 miles.
We would like to say a huge congratulations, and we wish them the best of luck as they begin their journey from Lord’s to Headingley on Monday. Ahoy and slog on!
