Strategy update from the CEO
An update on the charity's strategy process from our CEO, Mark Curtin.
Hello everyone,
Following our nationwide consultation process that began in November with members, supporters and other key partners, I’m delighted to say that the Board of Trustees have agreed the key elements of our new three-year strategy that puts our work to empower young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged communities who face inequality at the heart of everything we do.
There is still a lot of detailed work to be done in the coming months and when this is finalised in the summer, we will of course share this with you and be available to answer your questions. We’ll be in touch about this in due course.
It’s an exciting time for the charity as we build on our strong history and traditions and the success of our programmes with an ambitious strategy that takes us towards our 75th anniversary and ensures we deliver our life changing work to thousands more young people in the decades to come.
I’d like to thank all of you who took part in the consultation process and for your ongoing support of the charity.

A busy summer lies ahead with a packed events calendar planned across the country and also some fantastic games of cricket and like all of you, I can’t wait to be able to get out, meet face to face and once again being able to have fun in the best traditions of the Taverners. You can view a selection of our events taking place this summer here.
Thankfully, our programmes are also fully back up and running especially Table Cricket, which was hit hard during the pandemic. Schools up and down the country are once again competing for a place in the finals day at Lord’s in June while participants on our Super 1s and Wicketz programmes will be looking forward to the residential trips we have planned on top of our regular sessions.
To learn more about the impact of our programmes, please do read our latest Impact Report which was published last week - just click here.
Programme activity is happening almost every day around the country and if you would like to see this work first hand and see how collectively we are all making a difference, please do contact us by email at contact@lordstaverners.org to arrange a visit to a project near you.
Thanks everyone and look forward to seeing you all soon.
Mark
